Safari browser problem

If you hare running a Safari browser there could be problems to login and upload files.
If you want to be sure that everyting is going to work well use Firefox for mac instead.

I see old pages on the site

We may have changed a page but you still look at an old cached page.
Your browser caches (saves) pages to your hard drive to let you surf quicker. How often the browser updates pages depends on your browser configurations.

To reload a page and bypass the cache use "Clear history".
Most commonly you find the "Clear history" button in the toolbar of your browser. Of course if your toolbar is hidden you cant see the button.

You can also use theese command keys:

Internet Explorer
Hold the Ctrl key and press the F5 key.

Mozilla family
Hold down the Ctrl key and then press F5.
On a Mac, Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload button on the navigation toolbar.

Safari for version 4 and newer
Hold down the Shift key and click the Reload toolbar button.

For other browsers and versions read here.

Login problem

Lost password or username.

Get a new password by clicking the link "Request new password" i the login menu. You will then get a temorary login link by mail.
Don't forget to create a new password when you are logged in.

Request a new password

  1. On the site: Click "Request new password" in the login menu.
  2. An e-mail is sent to you. In the mail: click on the link.
  3. On the site look for: Reset password This is a one-time login, expire in 24 hours
  4. Change the password and confirm it on the line below.
Write down your user name and password.
  5. Click on the SAVE button at the bottom (This step is often forgotten)

Text formatting

  • PASTE TEXT
Always paste text as "plain text" (completely unformatted). To do this - use the tool "paste as plain text" in the text editor toolbar. If you do not follow this recommendation you will experience frustrating problems trying to remove invisible code. If you experience the problem delete all the text completely and redo the paste action as described.
  • FORMATS
Add formattings as bold, italic, paragraph, new line after you have made the pastings.
  • LINE BREAKS
    Return gives a new paragraph.
Shift + return gives a new line (with less spacing).

Uploading images

Please use Firefox if you experience problem when uploading. Download Mozilla Firefox.

The most common problems are: too big file, unallowed file name, wrong file type.
Read more of this beneath.

There are three types of images which are uploaded in three different parts on the application page.
(You can also find info about file limits next to each upload field in yor application)

  1. Smaller images for your application and website presentation.

Errors

Disappearing application

If you have a lot of browser windows open look through them.
Did you forget to save? The save button is at the bottom of the application page.

All disappeared. A blank screen with an error message.

Unfortunately this can happen, but it only happens temporarily.
- Due to server limitations the site can be overloaded when there is a lot of traffic on the site.
- It can also be simultaniously plumbing on the site that disturbs your view.
If this is the case there is nothing to do about it except to try again or come back later.

Error message when uploading

It can be that you are trying to upload to big files. See the section about "Uploading images" further up.
Limitations:
PDF or DOC files (adobe reader or word)  - Max file size 6Mb. You can of course upload several documents.
JPG files  - longest side max 1200px. You must resize images before you upload them!

Multiple applications problem

If you happen to create a duplicate application please remove the redundant version. We need only one application and it is difficult for us to decide which version is correct.

This is how you delete a multiple application:

  1. Locate the block "EDIT" on the start page.
  2. Click on the application link for the application you want to delete. This will open the page.
  3. Click "Edit" at the top of the page.
  4. Click "Delete" at the bottom of the application page.
  5. The message "Are you sure you want to delete the-name-of-your-application" appear. Click "Delete".
    Thats it.
