Scibase is the collective name of two groups - Sci and Basement Arts projects. The groups have bases in two UK Cities - Leeds and Liverpool and initially met during the 2008 Liverpool Biennial when they collaborated on an extensive exhibition programme that spanned the two regions.
The artists in both groups fluctuate as their needs to develop their own practise are met, but the core of each group has remained . Exhibitions are not only curated in the home venues of each group, but also in collaboration with other venues that both parties have developed strong relationships with.
This year brings an opportunity to open up both venues for residencies to outside artists
