About Kunsthuis SYB:

SYB’s mission
Kunsthuis SYB wants to offer contemporary artists a workspace on the sidelines of the (art) world. During a project period in Kunsthuis SYB, artists can develop by means of research, experiment and new cooperation. Kunsthuis SYB offers space, stimulation and support.

SYB’s method of working
SYB is an Artist Residency that encourages and provides research, experiment and new cooperation. Artists are invited on the basis of a project proposal to work and stay in the house for six weeks. Every weekend the doors are open for audience, who can follow the work process. This work process is closed by a presentation. A project budget and payment of expenses is available for every project.

Bringing in a project proposal
Artists can bring in a project proposal in which the research, the aim, the method and the desired cooperation are defined. This project proposal needs to be accompanied by current documentation, a curriculum vitae and a work description. As soon as this information is online, a reference to a website will be sufficient. One can choose to initially send documentation only. Once every month, the programming committee discusses the documentation and the project proposals that are sent in.
