Fiberartsweden, FAS
FAS is an artist-run network formed in 1998. Today FAS has 42 members. The network started as a forum to show and debate current art in the textile field. The activities contain exhibitions, discussions and exchange of knowledge. The members of the network are working as artists, researchers and act as agents of the common textile history, with an individual vision of textile art as an important way of expression. Common is the background and interest of the three-dimensional art and space that associate with textile material and expression.
In September 2010 FAS will be the organiser of Northern Fibre in Stockholm. Northern Fibre is a series of exhibitions and events taking place around the Nordic countries since 1996. The Title for 2010 is “Points of Departure”. FAS has the ambition to show the spearhead of contemporary textile art. “Points of Departure” suggests an art form originating in textile but with a direction towards an expanding field.
During Supermarket 2010 FAS is presenting 4 members:
Carina Gardefjord
Monica Nilsson
Gunilla Poignant
Anna Tegeström Wolgers
